Cyberpunk adventure is here

After nearly three years of deliberation and redesign we are excited to announce Protocol Runners.
This is our first cyberpunk content since 2023 (when we released Neo City) but in that time we have produced Starship Scavengers and released over twenty publications for it. Into that universe, Ben created Star Marshal (new adventure coming to Kickstarter in May) which will be building up the outer worlds.
Also in that time, I've been tinkering away with a tarot deck based game. In the end, I pivoted, and made a new solo-play sci-fi game that uses a tarot deck as a special form of equipment. I'm hugely excited by it. So here it is... Protocol Runners:

In our universe, the human galactic empire tore itself apart during a hundred years of civil war, known as the Wars of Unreason. Those ended with the collapse of the human empire. That occurred roughly two hundred years prior to the time of Starship Scavengers and for the first time we are returning to that time. Specifically, a time right at the height of the Wars of Unreason.
You play a genetically engineered human created by a pan-dimensional sentient AI, not to end the war, but to try to limit its reach. That way, potentially billions of sentient creatures could be saved.
Not only were you bred for the role, but you are also equipped with reality-warping technology which looks like a deck of tarot cards, but are actually quantum triggers.
You can delete opponents from existence, turn one object into another, or command an NPC to obey you without question -- but with such great power comes great danger.
Use your technology too much, and your enemies will be able to track you down. And they mean business!
With high narrative stakes, deck building, and a tailored game system, I think this provides a great dose of cyberpunk-infused sci-fi fun for the solo gamer.

As of posting the blog, it is live on Kickstarter and has just over two weeks to go. There is a ton of content, including downloadable sample pages from the adventure and rulebook on the campaign page.

And until next time, keep gaming. Stephen
